Screencastify

Screencastify is a very helpful extension which allows you to record your computer’s screen, or chrome tab window, and then upload this directly to Google Classrooms. To start, once added, press on the icon at the top of chrome, and then once you are happy with your settings, press on ‘Record’ to start your recording. It is worth noting that with the free version, the maximum recording time is 5 minutes …

Bitmoji

Bitmoji is an extension which allows you to create your own personalised avatar – which can be shared and used on documents. This is a good visual tool. It is important to note that it requires you to link your Snapchat account to it. This is an optional extension for staff use only. Lucidcharts

Lucidcharts is an add-on for the G-Suite range of programs which allows you to create and share flowcharts and logic diagrams. You are able to insert previously made diagrams into Docs/Sheets/Slides, as well as creating one from within there. This is for staff use only and is not installed as standard. Dualless

Dualless is an extension which can be used to split your browser windows on your screen, allowing you to easily manage your Chrome windows. The ratio can be adjusted according to your needs. You may find this useful during Live lessons when you would like to keep track of your class, whilst looking at something else on another tab. Google Meet Attendance

Google Meet Attendance is an extension which allows you to keep track of who should be joining your Google Meet – and as to whether they turned up or not. As you start your Meet, you can enter a list of expected invitees and the extension will automatically detect who joined the call and how long they stayed. This extension is for staff use only and is not installed as standard. Mote

Mote is an extension which works with the G-Suite range of programs which allows you to leave voice comments on student’s work. The student does not need this extenison installed to listen to your voice notes, but they can if they wish. This extension is for Staff use, but students working on a computer could also install if they are able to. To activate it, highlight the text you would like to comment on, right click and then click on ‘Comment’. You can then speak into your microphone once you press on the ‘Mote’ button next to the text box …
