Chick Pics!

8T’s Chicks are starting to lose their ‘chick fuzz!’  Since hatching on Monday 7th June they’re nearly 4 weeks old. When the chickens reach 18 weeks they will start to lay their own blue eggs.

The chicks are: Running, jumping, scratching, flapping, flying, and making lots of mess!  We have to hold and stroke them very gently as they’re still small.  Some of our learners are getting really confident handling the birds.  The dark ones are the girls (hens) and the lighter ones are the boys (cockerels).  We’re soon going to be looking for homes for our chickens.  If you think you have space for a feathered friend or a breeding pair look out for our adoption letter!
