We arrived at Kingswood at about 3 pm. Straight away we were taken on a tour of the centre, before even putting our bags in our rooms and making our beds. After the tour we got shown our rooms and faced the first major challenge of the week – putting on duvet covers.
Before dinner, one group went off to fence whilst the other two found challenges on different aspects of the high ropes course. It isn’t the warmest weather at the moment, much to Miss Baldwin’s concern who had ordered warm and sunny for the entire week. After dinner we spent some time on our rooms and then, at about 7:50 pm, we had a fire drill so we all knew the routine. Mini Olympics finished off the days activities. Javelin, relay races and hurdles mixed up with races in which we had to pretend to be chickens laying eggs all kept us busy until about 8:55pm. Upstairs, shower and bed and, although I’d like to say everyone was asleep by 10:30, it wasn’t too much later.
